Getting some counts back
Good Day,
There have been some COVID issues on the floor, among the Doctors (we think). Molly's primary Doctor team is Covid free and has been rounding on Molly daily. They have Covid tested everyone this week. Thankfully Molly's test is negative. We have been taking rapid tests periodically and have been negative as well.
Molly has gotten some minor count recovery over the past 2 days. For Molly, her levels are already in the gutter, so count recovery is relative. We have to keep reminding every Doctor about this, as she is not a "normal" case. Currently she has a bone marrow biopsy scheduled for December 6 - this will be day 35 and will ensure that her blast cells are down to 0%.
Today is her last dose of Vancomycin!
There is talk of the D word...but we are not getting our hopes up, as we know things can change daily!
Molly has very little hair left... her scalp is still blue and a bit "smurfy" if you will :-)
Xander had a rough weekend, as he came down with an illness, although he tested negative for Flu A, Flu B, Strep and Covid. The NP put him on antibiotics on Monday and he is feeling much better now. He had to stay holed up in his room for 4-5 days so that we would not get sick and so far, so good! We have been pumping up on the vitamins to stay healthy. More to come on the results of his auditions recently. This weekend, we will get to watch his Michigan Youth Jazz Orchestra performance (and Molly will as well), as it is being live streamed at 2pm Sunday - he is playing alto sax.
Another event that we wanted to make everyone aware of is the UofM - Ohio State Blood Battle! This is so important for all of these kids on the 7th floor - they (and Molly specifically) cannot survive without blood donations. @BloodBattleUofM
A shout out to all of the wonderful people that have brought us meals - thank you!! There is also a lovely group of people who have been doing bake sales in Molly's honor - this has been a really awesome way to help us out financially - thank you ALL. 💕
Peace and Love,
Emilie

I am Eloise MacDougald's grandmother, Mimi she and her siblings call me, and I am following Molly's story. I recall Molly often from being at Steiner events and with Eloise. I can hardly believe that that smiling, joy-filled Molly is down on her luck right now. I can see you smiling face so clearly in my mind's eye. Molly, I am thinking of you and sending you love. Lots of it. My husband, who Eloise and family call "Pappy", is also sending love. Big time. You are in THE MIDDLE of our hearts and minds these days. I know we're one of SO MANY who care for you. Love must be streaming into you like a love-hose in that hyperbaric chamber from all who know you. That's what a good life is: offering joy and receiving love. You are and expert at that& are doing that even in this instant! xoxo
