Day 7 of Round 1

Good Afternoon,

We are thankful that Molly has made it this far with few side-effects of the chemotherapy. So far Molly's main complaint has been exhaustion and night sweats. Yesterday she got a hive type rash on her lower back. This doesn't seem to concern the Docs very much at this point, as it has mostly resolved and is now on her legs. Benadryl/Zyrtec seem to be helping and she is not in any pain. One of the docs said that this rash was not a typical Cytarabine rash and they do not see rashes with the Dauno. So, this is most likely something else. Well, okay, not sure what it could be exactly,  but we are in the right place if there is going to be an issue! Everyone is watching her closely.

She has completed all of the doses of Daunorubicin for this round and has 7 doses of Cytarabine remaining.

Molly has not needed blood products very much this week - she has only needed 1 unit of PRBCs since Monday. This is great news, as every transfusion can lead to complications in the future.

Tomorrow (Monday 11/8) will be her first lumbar puncture with intrathecal chemo delivery. She will have Cytarabine and Methotrexate, along with Hydrocortisone. They will also take some of her spinal fluid for testing. They will test to see if there are blasts in the fluid. The ITT (as it is called) is done at least once per month (round) even if they do not find blast cells. We pray for no blasts in this part of her body.

We have all really appreciated the meals and are so grateful for all of your support. 

As I stand and look at floor 7 from the elevators... I can't help but think... I never know what is going to happen through those double doors. I keep hoping and praying her side-effects remain minimal. We are all waiting for when her hair will start to fall out - so far, this has not happened, but it surely will.

Peace and Love

Dear Family and Friends, Molly has been fighting hard for nearly 10 months and her body is now shutting down. I wanted to get a quick note out so that everyone knows what is happening. We are all home with her trying to make her last days as comfortable as possible. Last night, we got her on a pain pump which allows her to be way more in control of the pain meds. Hospice moved her to Dilaudid which will give her more room to go up if she needs it. She is very short on breath, very angry at times and doesn't want everyone to stand around her and cry. Just a couple of nights ago, she had the energy to be with Xander and play a video game - we couldn't believe it and we were so grateful to get this time with her. She has eaten lobster twice this week - she got that gene from Grandpa Howie 💖  Please pray for Molly to pass with peace and love in her heart and no pain in her body. Blessings to you all, Emilie
